Tailgate & Community Code

The ColoFandom fan code: respect, safety, responsible drinking, fire and propane, family zones, rival fans, trash, access and reporting.

Colorado tailgates and watch parties run on goodwill. The Tailgate & Community Code is how we hope every ColoFandom fan behaves, online and at the lot. It is a community standard, not a legal document, and it never overrides the rules of a venue, lot, team or the law.

Respect everyone

Cheer hard, but be kind. No harassment, slurs, threats, groping or intimidation. Newcomers, students, parents and long-time season-ticket holders all belong here. Keep trash talk playful and leave personal attacks out of it.

Rival fans are guests

A visiting fan in a Broncos lot or a Utes jersey on The Hill is part of the show. Welcome them, share a snack and keep the banter friendly. If a conversation heats up, step back and walk away.

Drink responsibly

  • Follow all laws and venue rules on alcohol, and never serve or share with anyone underage.
  • Plan a designated driver, rideshare or transit before the first drink. Altitude can make alcohol hit sooner.
  • Look after friends who have had too much, and get help from venue staff if someone needs medical attention.

Fire, propane and cooking safety

Use grills, smokers and propane only where the lot allows it. Keep them stable and away from tents, vehicles and walkways, never leave a fire unattended and keep water or an extinguisher nearby. Follow venue and fire marshal instructions. Let equipment cool before packing it.

Family-friendly spaces

Many fans bring kids. Respect any family zones, keep language and behavior suitable when children are around and keep music at a level that lets people talk.

Leave no trace

Pack out what you bring, bag your trash, put out charcoal safely and leave the lot cleaner than you found it. Colorado is beautiful, and we want to keep it that way.

Accessibility and inclusion

Make room for fans with mobility, sensory or other access needs. Keep paths clear, do not block accessible routes or parking, and ask before offering help. If you organize a meetup, think about accessible meeting points.

Meetups and chapters

Organizers who host ColoFandom meetups or chapter gatherings are asked to keep them welcoming and informal, share this code with attendees, choose public places and follow venue rules. A ColoFandom meetup is not an official team or venue event, and organizers and attendees remain responsible for their own conduct and safety.

Be a good neighbor

Keep noise reasonable, respect nearby residents and businesses, follow parking and traffic directions and obey posted signs. Being invited into a lot or a bar is a privilege, so say thank you to staff and volunteers who keep game days running.

Keep it positive

Celebrate wins without gloating and handle losses with grace. Share your food, learn a newcomer's name and remember that the best tailgates are the ones people want to come back to next season.

Reporting concerns

If someone is in danger, call emergency services or find venue staff first. For community concerns about ColoFandom content or events, email [email protected] with what happened, where and when. We will review reports, but we are not able to police events or promise outcomes.
