The Boulder and Flatirons Guild is for fans who bleed black and gold, whether they are students, alumni or neighbors under the Flatirons. It is unofficial and fan-run.
What this chapter is
The chapter centers on CU Buffs athletics, with room for anyone in Boulder County who follows the pros, too. It is a place to meet other fans, trade tips for game day and find people to watch with.
ColoFandom has no affiliation with the university, its athletics department or any local business, and the chapter has no official standing.
How groups usually meet
Boulder game days are famously walkable. Groups often start the day with breakfast downtown, stroll toward campus and end up near The Hill after the final whistle. Our campus tailgate itinerary shows one way to plan the day.
We do not publish schedules or addresses here. Meetups are informal, set by fans and always depend on venue and campus rules. Confirm hours and policies directly with any bar or location.
Every chapter shares the same ground rules: drink responsibly, line up a designated driver, follow venue and lot rules, and treat other fans, staff and neighbors with respect.
Travel tips
Parking near campus can be tight on game days, so consider walking, biking or taking transit from elsewhere in the county. If you are coming from Denver, US-36 is the main corridor and it can be slow before and after events, so leave early and be patient.
Boulder weather can change fast. Bring layers, a hat and water, and remember that the sun is stronger at altitude.
Who it is for
It is for students, alumni, parents and townspeople who like walking to games and meeting others along the way. First-timers are welcome. If you are visiting from out of state, this is a friendly place to ask where to go.
Starting a local watch group
Start by joining the interest list on ColoFandom. Tell us your area and the teams you follow, and we will let you know as others near you sign up. ColoFandom does not appoint marshals, grant official status or guarantee a venue, so treat a new group as a friendly fan-run effort. Choose a public spot, confirm with the venue directly, and keep it welcoming.
If you want to organize, keep it simple. Pick a public spot, tell a few friends, and be clear that anyone is welcome. Small groups tend to feel warmest.
