Avalanche Ice Reports

Rink-side notes on Avalanche hockey: lines, tempo and the Ball Arena atmosphere.

Avalanche Ice Reports is a planned ColoFandom show for Avalanche fans, and it is launching soon. There are no episodes to stream yet, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What we can do today is tell you exactly what the show is meant to be, who it is for and how to be first in line when it opens.

The idea is simple: a regular conversation about Avalanche hockey told from the fan's seat. Not from a press box, not with insider access, but from the concourse, the rink and the loudest nights in the Rockies at Ball Arena. ColoFandom is an unofficial, independent community, so the show will never claim a connection to the team, the league or the venue. It is fans talking to fans, with the warmth and a little broadcast swagger Colorado deserves.

The format

We are planning a relaxed, conversational format that is easy to catch on a commute, a drive up I-70 or a Saturday morning at the tailgate. Think of it as a friend who watched the game with you and has opinions, but is happy to hear yours too. Episodes will aim to be friendly to newcomers while still giving long-time fans something to nod along with.

Typical segments

Here is the shape we are sketching out. Final segments may change as the show finds its voice.

  • Tempo Check: how the pace of a game felt from the seats
  • Lines and Looks: a fan-level read on combinations and special teams, kept friendly and general
  • Arena Atmosphere: goal horns, chants and the crowd moment of the night
  • Parade Memories: occasional looks back at the 2001 and 2022 Stanley Cup celebrations

Who it is for

Avalanche fans who love the sport as much as the scene, including newcomers who want hockey explained without jargon walls. If you have ever tried to explain to a friend from out of state what it is like to watch a game at 5,280 feet, this show is for you.

Launching soon: join the notify list

The show is not live, and we will not publish release dates here until they are real. The best way to hear first is to join the ColoFandom notify list from the Shows page. It is a simple interest list kept on the ColoFandom side, so you will only hear from us about launches that actually happen.
