While they have stuck with each other since then, she revealed in 2022 that they have been “separated” since 2016. This came after Will Smith admitted in 2018 that they dont call themselves “married” anymore, but rather “life partners.”

Now, there has been another alleged revelation about their relationship. If sources are to be believed, it looks like Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith are no longer living together even though they haven’t severed their ties.

A source close to Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith opened up to TH magazine about the apparent status of their relationship. According to them, both stars are a part of each other’s lives but are no longer living together.

Another source revealed that the pair is “still together” but they “have had separate homes for years.” The above-mentioned insider confirmed that the Smiths haven’t severed ties with each other just yet.

In their words,

Call it what you want. They are living their own lives but haven’t completely severed ties.

They also added that Will Smith is currently busy, focusing on his music stating, “Will is busy with film and music and doing okay. [He\ is a bit disillusioned with Hollywood but that could all change with some new success.” We wonder what is in store for the couple who are defying all the norms and stereotypes when it comes to being in a relationship!

While for some, ‘life partners’ would be synonymous with ‘marriage,’ things work a little bit differently for the Smiths who have stopped saying they are married for years now.

Smith once showed up on TIDAL’s Rap Radar podcast where he talked about Jada and his long-term relationship which transcends the norms of a regular marriage. He revealed that the couple no longer says that they’re married and instead label each other as “life partners.”

Why? Because he wholeheartedly believes that there are no deal-breakers in their relationship and that they will have each others’ backs till death do them part.

In his words,

We don’t even say we’re married anymore. We refer to ourselves as life partners. Where you get into that space where you realize you are literally with somebody for the rest of your life. There’s no deal breakers. There’s nothing she could do — ever. Nothing that would break our relationship. She has my support till death, you know what I mean, and it feels so good to get to that space where you’re not complaining, and worrying, and demanding that a person be a certain thing

Well, their relationship is different from the rest, that’s for sure! Now with the recent reports of them living in separate houses, who knows what’s next for them?
