That’s all Mike Tyson is doing to prepare for his fight with Jake Paul, 31 years his junior, this weekend.
It will be ‘Iron Mike’s’ first professional fight in 19 years, and the 58-year-old legend has been preparing very carefully. The increased training time isn’t the only drastic change. Tyson revealed that he has drastically changed his diet and lifestyle ahead of the historic fight, cutting sex and marijuana out of his routine.
Tyson has been sharing clips of his grueling workouts on social media platforms, showing off his impressive speed, incredible strength and muscular physique. Speaking during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Tyson revealed that he trains for six hours a day with very little rest: “I start at 11am, run, go to the gym and leave at 5pm. After boxing, I get a massage for an hour, then I go straight into strength and conditioning training,” Tyson shared.

Tyson also revealed that psilocybin mushrooms have played a major role in his training. Psilocybin is a hallucinogenic compound found in more than 200 different species of mushrooms, including magic mushrooms, free-floating caps and azurescens. But he also insisted that he had cut marijuana and sex out of his life in the run-up to the fight.
“I’m very disciplined. It’s been six weeks since I’ve been high or had sex. I’ve never been this abstinent since I was a kid,” Tyson told Forbes Life on April 26. “I hate quitting and not being able to sleep with my wife, but I’m doing it like I love it.” The change is a big step for the boxing champion once known as “Kid Dynamite.” He’s a marijuana addict, and even has his own line of cannabis+ products.
In 2010, Mike Tyson went vegan after years of eating steak, drinking and drugs since retiring in 2005. But as he prepared to return to the ring, Tyson gave up veganism and returned to a meat-based diet to build muscle. “I stopped eating vegan because of my training and because of what I wanted my body to look like and the strength I wanted to have,” he told journalist Joe Rogan.
