1. Avoid Overlapping Clothes

3. Choose a Spot Near a Light Source

Areas with abundant light tend to have higher temperatures, making them ideal for drying clothes. Spots near windows, doors, or well-lit areas with plenty of electric lighting are excellent choices.

4. Avoid Hanging Clothes in the Kitchen or Bathroom

These areas are not ideal for drying clothes, as they tend to make garments smell unpleasant and slow down the drying process. It’s best to avoid hanging clothes in such spaces.

Should You Turn Clothes Inside Out While Drying?

While some people turn their clothes inside out when drying to prevent fabric wear and fading from sunlight, this practice might not be necessary. The outer surface of clothing is exposed to dust, bacteria, and insects when hung, and turning clothes inside out could lead to these contaminants clinging to the inside—the part that comes into direct contact with your skin.

This is particularly concerning for baby clothes, as children have weaker immune systems. Dust and bacteria on the inside of their clothes can cause irritation, rashes, or even respiratory issues.
