The tragic case of Shanquella Robinson continues to raise significant concerns and anger as her family tirelessly seeks justice two years after her death. In a recent video, Shanquella’s mother, Salamondra Robinson, urged the public to help demand accountability, expressing frustration over the lack of arrests. Despite visible evidence and disturbing details that surfaced after Shanquella’s death in Mexico in 2022, none of the six acquaintances, often referred to as the “Cabo 6,” who were with her at the time have been charged.

A video widely shared on social media shows Shanquella being assaulted by one of the individuals in the group. Shanquella’s family has since filed a lawsuit against the Cabo 6, alleging battery, negligence, conspiracy, and infliction of emotional distress. In an unusual move, the lawsuit also names the FBI and the U.S. State Department, accusing them of mishandling the investigation and concealing evidence. The family, who has sought records through the Freedom of Information Act, claims federal authorities altered or ignored key evidence, which they believe has contributed to the lack of progress in the case.
An autopsy report conducted by Mexican authorities stated Shanquella’s cause of death as severe spinal cord injury and atlas luxation (a type of spinal injury), contradicting initial claims from her friends that she died from alcohol poisoning. Further, there were discrepancies in official documents regarding the time and circumstances of her death, raising additional questions about what truly transpired. The Mexican autopsy concluded she passed away shortly after sustaining the injuries, while a police report suggested a prolonged period in which she was treated by a medical professional on-site.
In response to these inconsistencies and the apparent gaps in the investigation, Shanquella’s family continues to push for answers, transparency, and justice. The case has also gained renewed public attention, as supporters amplify the family’s concerns that critical evidence is being overlooked or misrepresented.
